Opportunity of the week: Made in Dagenham Multi Media Complex

Mon 15th January 2018, 2:26 pm

Barking and Dagenham Council-owned development company Be First and the borough's local authority are seeking to deliver Londonís largest film and tv studios for 25 years as part of a mixed-use multimedia complex adjacent to Dagenham East station.

The council is currently seeking expressions of interests from organisations.

The eight-hectare site offers scope for three key elements:

- A secure site for large film and TV stage  sets and workshops up to 18,580 square meters
- A public destination facility of ‘shiny floor’ TV studios, with audiences and associated workspace, together with a leisure and food and beverage offer
- Residential development to achieve a transformational mixed-use development

A feasibility study funded by the council and Mayor of London, with support from Film London, concluded Dagenham East represents a unique opportunity to build a world-class film studio within the boundaries of Greater London.

David Harley, head of regeneration at Be First, will attend the next Sitematch London to discuss this opportunity with interested developers. Contact Josie Brewer on 020 7978 6840 to book your place.
