Opportunity of the week: Walworth Town Hall
Sun 21st January 2018, 1:11 pm
Southwark Council is keen to discuss the redevelopment of Walworth Town Hall with developers at Sitematch London on 8 February.
The site is located within the Elephant and Castle regeneration area, which is currently undergoing a £3 billion transformation to create new homes, better transport links and improved public spaces. Elephant and Castle station is a five-minute walk away, which offers access to the Northern and Bakerloo lines, as well as National Rail services.
The Town Hall complex is constructed around the St Mary Newington Vestry Hall, which dates from 1865, and is Grade II-listed.
The council is seeking a scheme that will incorporate arts and culture uses, with public access. Additional commercial uses will be considered to boost viability.
